Visit one of the hidden jewels of Hawkes Bay. Just a three hour trek along the beautiful Mohaka River brings you to Te Puia Lodge

A short walk upstream brings us to the thermal pools. A therapeutic rest and a dive into the cool Mohaka beside is truly invigorating!

Keen fisherman return via the river, as an alternative up to Makino Trig and back along the ridge

Boundary Stream

A day trip to one of only six "Mainland Island" restoration projects undertaken by DOC.

The 800 ha Boundary Stream Scenic Reserve is located one hour north of Napier and is ideal for day trips with easy tramping and for experiencing New Zealand flora and fauna.

The pest eradication programme sees the wide range of plants providing an environment for increasing number of native birds such as tui, bellbird, rifleman, tomtit, fantail, whitehead, silver-eye, grey warbler, kereru and morepork.

Shine Falls in the park is spectacular at 68m and is a great place for a picnic (and a swim for the brave!).  Side trips to Lake Opouahi Kiwi Reserve, Lake Tutira and White Pine Bush can be included in this day trip.
