Afoot operates under a concession from the Department of Conservation providing experienced personal guides for individually-designed tramping trips.

There are a number of suggested routes and itineraries; alternatively design your own trek in conjunction with your guide dependent on the degree of difficulty and type of challenge sought. Typical treks can involve pristine native bush, pure trout streams, open top, river and lowland trails and hot thermal springs.

These ranges provide opportunities for long and short treks into rarely-visited areas of native bush. We are unlikely to see other trampers on our trips. The ranges are rugged but offer unrivalled access to real New Zealand wilderness areas.

Typical group size is four but group from two to six can be accommodated. Treks are usually 2 to 5 nights duration, but day and overnight trips are also available.

Prices start at $75 NZD per person per day. Hut passes are included.

Your own food, clothing and personal tramping equipment (boots, rucksack, wet weather gear) is required. Transport can be arranged from Taupo or Hawkes Bay.
